Sweet & Salty

July 31st, 2010 · 1 Comment · Food, Glorious Food!, General Life

Staying in on a Saturday night? you say. You would be too,  if you had a 30km run to tackle like myself in the A.M. The boyfriends at the pub to watch le All Blacks so its a lonely night in for myself. Myself and a house in which all food seems to have evaporated (hello, burger rings, bread, even a cheese single?), and of course I’m at the point of need eat now. The pantry is so below empty, bar dry crackers, pretzels and baking ingredients (not even going there!).

So low and behold…..my fav new snack was born….I give you chocolate covered pretzels! Ala me!

Ok, so I didn’t come up with these, nor was it the first time I made them, but these are a fantastic, easy snack, melt your chocolate chips and dip in your pretzals, refridgerate and voila!

I LOVE the combo of salty & sweet.

Enough to fill up the tank for now anyways.

Rest of day was taken by work (business work) and work (reno work). I am working furiously on My Wee Cottage and today was party one of the many parts of undercoat the walls. Not the most exciting part of renovation, but nonetheless wass pretty exciting to see some paint on the walls. I’m happy with that!

Other than that the boyf made a fantastic alllllllmost from scratch indian dinner. Go him! I wined (the drink) and whined (the moan) a bit about my current status of bored/frustrated with life and he is helping me zero in on where the problem lies. He put it down to work (accomplishments and company, not the field. The field is where i belong). While I realise this is a huge part of my woe, I also think there may be a certain lack of excitement in life in general that plays a part. I kind of have always been a routine girl, have had my life planned out for the past few years, have known what I have wanted and wanted to do, and am just setting about doing it.

So why all of a sudden is it not enough? Some things are harder to come out with even when in a discussion like this with the one person who knows you better than anyone else in the world?

And where to I start to figure out what I need to do? Or is that even the question I am asking here?

Saturday Night at the Computer

July 31st, 2010 · Comments Off on Saturday Night at the Computer · General Life

Welcome to my blog! Thank for joining, I’m sorry this blog won’t be able to fit into a category as such, as it’s just going to be uniquely me. I will cover whatever is happening and whats on my mind as a 22 year old typical NZ girl, growing up (?) and learning about myselves. I write this at a time where the spark seems to have gone out of my life and I look to find out what I’m meant to do with myself, face a few fears and have lots of fun on my way. Can’t say that it will be over the top exciting, but it will be real.

Hopefully there are other people out there who might take comfort in knowing they aren’t the only one feeling blah about life and wanting for excitement, or adventure, or if neither of those, just sometime a bit different then ordinary everyday life. Because that is what I am looking for. Nothing dramatic as such, but to shake things up at the least.

I will try and provide humour because I truly believe that is a huge curer (if thats a word)(I don’t think it is), so that you keep reading. I will open up for discussion my own thoughts and hope that you join in. I want to speak with other people!

Read on, and keep in touch.
